Every OLIBÆ ingredient is selected with purpose. Our formulas unite clinically researched bakuchiol, whole botanical resins, and organic plant oils — and disclose exactly what is inside.
1% True Bakuchiol
The highest concentration within SYTENOL® A's recommended formulation range.
12-Week Clinical Study
A randomized, double-blind human comparison of bakuchiol and retinol.
Whole Botanical Resins
Organic frankincense and myrrh, ground and slowly infused into organic oils.
Clinically Studied Active
True Bakuchiol 1%
A Gentler, Plant-Derived Alternative to Retinol
OLIBÆ is formulated with a full 1% SYTENOL® A bakuchiol — at the top of the manufacturer's recommended 0.5%–1% range.
Unlike retinol, bakuchiol is not a Vitamin A derivative. Human clinical research suggests it can visibly improve similar signs of photoaging while being better tolerated.
- Plant-derived
- Supported by human clinical research
- Suitable for morning and evening routines
- Better tolerated than retinol in comparative research
- Formulated at a clearly disclosed 1% concentration
What Clinical Research Shows
44 Participants. 12 Weeks. Randomized and Double-Blind.
A landmark clinical study published in the British Journal of Dermatology compared:
- 0.5% bakuchiol applied twice daily
- 0.5% retinol applied once daily
After 12 weeks, both groups demonstrated statistically significant improvements in:
- The appearance of wrinkles
- Uneven pigmentation
- Overall visible photoaging
Participants using bakuchiol reported significantly less scaling and stinging than those using retinol.
Further Research
Research at 1%
A separate four-week study followed 60 women with sensitive, mildly to moderately photodamaged skin using a twice-daily bakuchiol skincare regimen that included a moisturizer containing 1% bakuchiol.
Researchers reported significant visible improvements in:
- Smoothness
- Clarity
- Radiance
- Hydration
- Overall appearance
The regimen demonstrated good overall tolerability among participants with self-reported sensitive skin.

| Bakuchiol | Retinol |
|---|---|
| Plant-derived compound | Vitamin A derivative |
| Clinically researched | Clinically researched |
| Suitable for morning or evening routines | Commonly introduced gradually and used at night |
| Better tolerated in comparative human research | More scaling and stinging reported in the same study |
| Photostable | Light-sensitive |
| Gentler alternative for many skin types | Can cause dryness, peeling and irritation |
Why OLIBÆ Uses 1%
Full Strength. Fully Disclosed.
Many skincare formulas include bakuchiol without revealing the concentration. OLIBÆ contains a full 1% SYTENOL® A bakuchiol, at the highest level within the manufacturer's recommended formulation range.
No proprietary-blend ambiguity. No concentration hidden behind an ingredient list. Just complete transparency about the active you are applying to your skin.
Whole Botanical Resins
Organic Frankincense + Myrrh
OLIBÆ begins with whole certified-organic frankincense and myrrh resins — not essential oils.
- The resins are carefully ground
- Slowly infused into organic castor and jojoba oils
- Filtered to produce a concentrated botanical oil infusion
- Never extracted with aggressive solvents
Laboratory research has identified antioxidant and skin-conditioning activity among compounds naturally present in these ancient resins.
The Supporting Formula
Organic Jojoba Oil
A lightweight, oxidation-resistant liquid wax with a natural affinity for the skin.
Organic Castor Oil
Naturally rich in ricinoleic acid and selected for lasting moisture and a cushioned glide.
Organic Shea Butter
Rich in nourishing fatty acids and responsible for the Renewal Balm's protective, whipped texture.
Tocopherol · Vitamin E
Helps protect the botanical oils against oxidation while providing antioxidant skin conditioning.
Our Process
Cold-Infused. Never Rushed.
Every batch begins with whole frankincense and myrrh resins. We carefully grind the resins, slowly infuse them into organic botanical oils, and filter the resulting extract before formulation.
- No aggressive solvents
- No unnecessary fillers
- No shortcuts
- Just time, whole botanicals, and purposeful formulation
